Applications are coming in quickly for the mission trips to Roseland, Mexico and Ecuador. Last Sunday morning we hosted a parent meeting to go over some of the specifics of the three individual trips and the financial make and requirements as well. The students didn’t waste any time and jumped right into the work. We had several students begin working on an abandoned house where our friends Rafael and Jessica (and soon there new baby) will be moving in. You can see the video of summer of our students hard at work gutting the basement. For only having have a day to work the students got an amazing amount done.
Another group was busy digging 3 foot holes to for the fence posts and setting them in concrete. Tomorrow they will be stretching the fence. Roseland Christian ministries has been getting fined by the city for not having these lots fenced in so they are very thankful for this project to get started.
Another group of students got busy organizing all of the donated furniture and appliances that we brought with us. They were impressed with the items we brought and are looking forward to having an “Yard Sale” on Saturday.
We will back to these projects tomorrow and more in the morning. The students are doing great. Tomorrow afternoon we also have the block party and hopefully we will collect some great video’s or photos to share with all of you.
