Building Faith at Home: Taking Hold of Christ
Each week throughout our brand new message series entitled Taking Hold, students will bring home a “Building Faith at Home” card that will give you as a family an opportunity to reflect and continue to challenge one another to TAKE HOLD. In an attempt to ensure that you are in the know about that postcard, we’ll also be posting the same content in a blog (like this one!) each Monday morning. Please check back here each Monday morning for the new Building Faith at Home content based on the previous Sunday morning topic.
TOPIC: Taking Hold of Christ (Philippians 3:12-14)
ON-RAMP: Once we realize that the heart of being a Christian is following Jesus, everything seems to fall into place. God does not merely save us so we can spend eternity with Him, but He saves us so we can know and follow Jesus for the rest of our lives.
ONE BIG THING:
KEY IDEA: Jesus took hold of us so we can take hold of Him.
KEY QUESTION: How does having a relationship with God enable and empower us to TAKE HOLD of Jesus through knowing and following Him?
FAITH CHALLENGE: Memorize Philippians 3:12 (NIV) as a family.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
