Boxes for Change!

Hearing about what God is doing in the world is the best way to get students out of their seats and entering mission. Last weekend we launched our mission project through Life in Abundance International (www.liaint.org), a Christian development organization that works primarily in Africa to support Churches as they build sustainable structures in their community. This is primarily accomplished through schooling, economic development (micro-loans), medical care, and leadership development.

A couple of weeks ago, if you attend West Campus on Sunday mornings, your student probably brought home a box from LIA International to begin collecting change for our fall mission project. We will be collecting to raise money for a child program over in urban areas of Ethopia. As a community of 5th – 8th graders, we will be collecting changes in our boxes for change until November 22nd. If your son or daughter did not receive a box yet, they will this weekend. We had an abundance of interest with students last Sunday and we actually gave out all 150 boxes during the two hours!

This Sunday, East campus Sunday School classes will be exposed to the ministry of LIA and will be challenged to step out into mission by collecting change for this project!

A video will be posted soon outlining more of the work that LIA International works with over in Africa.

One Response to “Boxes for Change!”

  1. Amy Gorton Says:

We are so excited about the desire to serve that these children exhibit.

Thank you for joining with LIA and supporting the communities through the Boxes for Change campaign! We can’t wait to hear about the impact of this program come the end of Nov.
